Sound Design Demo Reel
This was one of my most engaging project yet. On all three of the parts of the demo reel I began on the backgrounds. I prefer to take this approach because it allows me to build the sound scape to match the visual first so that I know how everything else fits into the world presented on screen. I would then craft the foley, making sure that all of the physical interaction on screen meshed well with the backgrounds. I then moved onto my favorite section, sound effects. My favorite sound effect I made in this reel is the robot transformation sound effect in Tears of Steel. I made this by layering three designed energy sounds that manipulated the timing and pitch of to create a sense of movement and an advanced system powering down, then going in reverse when she transforms again. Then finally the last piece of the puzzle before putting it all together, the dialogue. For the final project in the reel, Dragon Crashers, I recorded the ADR for both of the characters. As a metal vocalist this was the perfect opportunity to show my ability to make strange noises as well as my proficiency in recording the noises.
